Odd Fellows Honor and Retire Memorial Day Flags with Dignity
Members of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows gathered at the Lodge on Tuesday May 26, 2026, at dawn, to respectfully take down the American flags that had been displayed throughout the town in honor of Memorial Day.
With solemn dignity and decorum, the Odd Fellows carefully lowered each flag, folding them with precision and respect according to United States Flag Code. The flags were then ceremoniously returned to the Lodge, where they will be properly stored until they are needed again to honor our nation and its fallen heroes.
This act of remembrance reflects the core values of the Odd Fellows — Friendship, Love, Truth, Faith, Hope, Charity, and Universal Justice. By honoring the flag with such care and reverence, the members continue a longstanding tradition of patriotism and respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedoms.
The Odd Fellows follow this tradition and maintain their dedication in both raising and retiring the flags with honor and attention to detail.
God Bless America.
